Swiss Army Periscopic Binoculars Kern 10x50
produced by: Kern & Co. AG, Aarau Switzerland
At spread setting, the distance between the objective lenses is 540 mm.
It can be used as a normal scissor periscopic binocular and if you turn down the obbjectives all the way to the side you will get a much more streoscopic view ... very impressive !
This is not possible on the other version, the Kern Perigono!
The resulting stereoscopie effect permits a more accurate estimation of distance differences in the field.

Old stock Swiss Army military Persicope 10x50 Observation Binoculars produced by Swiss Optics manufacturer Kern & Co. Aarau in 1977.
The Binoculars are in a very good condition. Probably one of the most impressive 10x50 Binoculars ever made.
These Binoculars use the military style individually focusing eyepieces (set it and forget it) with long eye relief for those who wear glasses. The binoculars also have a very high range interpupillary (IPD) adjustment that will allow proper viewing for most user. These binoculars offer excellent performance in low light conditions.
The design uses fully coated optics for absolutely stunning resolution and image clarity and alloy construction to reduce weight. Laser protection is provided by built in filters. To calculate the range of objects a reticle with vertical and horizontal markings is built-in to the unit. These binoculars are extremely rugged, relatively lightweight and can be taken anywhere.
The condition is very good, with no dust intrusion inside the binoculars, no mildew, and no scratches on the optic surfaces. Only the plasic box has a few cracks!
Application:
The Kern Periscopic Binoculars 10 x 50 is an observation instrument with 2 operational settings. It is used for observation, angular measurement, fire control and target designation purposes.
In addition to use by infantry, mechanized troops and escort troops, the instrument is also highly suitable for police and surveillance applications.
